Facebook Celebrating over 2 Billion Monthly users

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg went to his Facebook profile early today to announce that more than 2 billion people are now using Facebook.

About a year ago when the company announced hitting 1 Billion active users monthly, and now, they are celebrating a milestone of 1 Billion active users, making the round figure 2 Billion users, after 13years of its existence.

"Each day, more than 175 million people share a Love reaction, and on average, over 800 million people like something on Facebook," said Mike Nowak, Product Director at Facebook. "More than 1 billion people use Groups every month."

This is really a great milestone if you should ask me. On celebrating the milestone, Facebook has launched a 'Good Adds Up', you can see yours Here.

Not only this, "after someone reacts to a friend’s post with Love, wishes someone happy birthday or creates a group, they will see a message in News Feed thanking them."

Among other initiatives, the Good Adds Up page also features fun facts about how people are contributing to the community, and in the US, the company is also "sharing stories of people who inspire us."

Glo WelcomeBack: Get N6000 Free Bonus when you Recharge your Glo line

This is yet another battle for the telcos as Globacom has announced its own new offer called Glo WelcomeBack. As the name implies, this is a new offer from Glo to his subscribers who has dumped their Glo sim for over 30days. This is just a way to get their lost subscribers (customers who haven't recharged or make use of their Glo sim for over 30days) back to them.

We could remember Etisalat MissETmissOut, that offers any Etisalat user who haven't make use of their sim for 30days, a whooping N4,000 when they recharge N200. Globacom has finally joined the trend.

I have a Glo sim that i haven't used for over 2months, and I've been receiving series of text messages from WelcomeBack bonus with great offers. Kindly read it below.

You have N6000 Bonus credit unused. RECHARGE N200 to get N1200 OR N100 to get N600 for browsing and calling. Dial #122*34# to check unused bonus.

So, Glo is offering N600 bonus when you recharge your line with just N100 (not N6,000 for N100). N400 is for call and N200 for browsing which is the 50mb, While N1000 unlock all the bonus which is the N6,000. Take note of this.

However, the purpose of this Bonus was to welcome back old Glo users as well as a business strategy to recover their lost subscribers who has dumped their SIM or left it inactive for months.

The first time i saw the text message from Glo, i thought it was just a trick to get away with my money or something else, but i was later convinced that it's truly real and not fake.

It's very simple, just look for your dumped Glo SIM (that you haven't used for a month or more), insert it on your phone and wait for the message that confirms your eligibility.

After that, recharge your Glo line with the said amount in the text message you received.

Then, dial #122*34# to check your data balance.

You can't use the bonus credit to subscribe for data bundles but you can use it to browse and make calls. To get more bonuses, you need to recharge with more money. For instance, the N1,000 recharge gives you the full unlock bonus of N6,000 (N4000 for calling while N2000 for browsing).

Did you receive this same text too on your Glo line? Please comment and share.

Download and Install iOS 11 Public Beta Update on your iOS Device

If you are an iOS user, you can now partake in the on-going Beta testing for the iOS 11. You can now install the public beta update without even having a developer account.

Though, Apple has released the public beta update for quite sometime now. It only require your Apple ID before you can proceed to download the iOS 11 Beta update.

There are quite a number of features that came along with the update, which are but not limited to redesign dock, dark mode, unfload unused app, a design control center and lots more. As it's a public beta update, there should be bugs. So if you don’t have any redundant iOS devices, I’ll suggest you wait for the final version when it released.

Where Can I Download the Public Beta update for iOS 11?

>> Go to to download the configuration profile for your device.

>> Once you install, you will be asked to restart your iOS device.

>> After the device restarts, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and you will see the public beta as an update, just as you would see on any other iOS update.

Facebook Messenger Video chat gets New Features

Facebook is adding new features to its Messenger app. These features are set to be added today, and it focuses on the app's video chat functionality.

Facebook is adding some new features on its Messenger app when making a video chat/call. The features include but not limited to new animated reactions, filters, effects and masks.

You can now add effects, masks, filters and more animated reactions to your video conversations. You can even take screenshots while making video calls, both for one-on-one video call with your friend and/or group video chats.

Animated reactions are just that - you choose one of Facebook's well-known reactions (love, "haha", "wow", sad, and angry) and that state of mind will then animate on screen, and differently depending on whether your face is seen or not.

Filters are exactly what Instagram taught us they should be long ago before it was busy replicating every single feature of Snapchat. You can pick from a bunch of them in Messenger, and you get to test what each looks like before letting others see it.

Masks are even "more fun" now, because you get new ones to pick from. Some even have hidden effects, like reacting to your facial movements. Animated effects like falling hearts and twinkling stars have been added too, and they behave like masks - they stay on the screen for the duration of the chat, unless you take them off or switch to another one.

How do you see these features? Cool or not.

Facebook to Invest in Hollywood TV Shows

Facebook set to invest big in original TV shows worth millions of dollars, and is talking to Hollywood studios and agencies about producing TV-quality shows with an eye toward launching original programming by late summer, people familiar with the matter said.

The social networking giant is still in search of a cheap TV show production, after agreeing to pay $3 million per episode. This is really a lot of money if you ask me.

Facebook has set "late summer" as a goal for its new original series' premieres and is expected to announce multiple titles as well as a reality show dubbed Last State Standing.

Facebook has offered millions to companies to stream live content on its feed and it's only logical to want in on the streaming business.

Facebook Profile Guard Launched in India

Facebook has announced a new feature in India called Facebook Profile Guard. This feature is designed to alleviate the fear of Facebook profile picture theft. According to reports, women in India do not like to upload a picture of them as profile because of picture thefts that use their pictures for frauds and other negative things.

Profile Guard was developed in partnership with various Indian safety organizations like Centre for Social Research, Learning Links Foundation, Breakthrough and Youth Ki Awaaz, and it is designed to give people more control over their experience and help keep them safe online. When you enable Profile Guard, here are a few things that will happen:

  1. Others will not be able to download, share or message your profile pictures.
  2. Strangers will not be able to tag themselves or anyone else in your photos.
  3. If possible, Facebook will prevent people from taking screenshots of your profile picture (this is currently available for Android only)
  4. Facebook will display a shield icon at the bottom of your picture and a blue border around the edge. This would serve as a visual cue of protection for your profile picture.

According to Facebook, these extra design layers, including the shield and border, are a strong deterrent against copying. Furthermore, Facebook stated that these measures bring about a reduction rate of up to 75 percent. Also, Facebook states that it is exploring ways to make it easier for people to add other designs to their profile pictures, too.

Currently, there has been no word on where this feature might come up next. However, we can all agree that these privacy concerns are universal. Hopefully, Profile Guard will be released worldwide soon, as this looks like a really useful feature that might interest everyone.

Firefox Focus now Available on Android, Download here

Remember Mozilla Firefox Focus that was released for the iOS users late last year? Mozilla has yet released an Android version for the Android users. And guess what? It's already on Playstore for you to Install.

If you love browsing privately without the browser saving your cookies, caches and even tracking your information, then, Firefox Focus is the best browser for you.

Mozilla Firefox Focus was designed to only Focus on private browsing only, i.e: you can only browse in Incognito mode only. Though, all modern browsers has Incognito feature for browsing privately, but Firefox Focus was only meant for browsing in Incognito mode. That is why it's called Focus (Firefox Focus); focusing on only Incognito browsing.

Firefox Fucos is permanently a private mode browser, that allows you browse anonymously. It doesn't keep caches, cookies and also leave no track of your history or cookies. Once you are done browsing, clearing the prominently placed trash button clears everything. To keep things more simple, there is also no tab support or bookmarks.

Focus also can also block ads, analytic trackers, and social tracks automatically, although they can be disabled. You can also improve performance by blocking web fonts. The iOS version has the ability to work as an ad blocker for Safari but that functionality is absent on Android.

But the Android version does show the number of ads and trackers blocked on the page with a button to disable tracker blocker in the menu. There is also a persistent notification when the app is running in the background that you can click and clear the browser instantly.

If you are the type that love browsing anonymously, then, Firefox Focus is an ideal browser for you. Though, not everyone would love to install this browser, someone like me. Because the normal incognito mode Chrome has, is quite ok for me. I'm satisfied with it.

But if you do feel like testing out this browser, then, download from Playstore here.

Download Best Free Video Editing Softwares for PC

If you have been looking for a free video editing software to use on your PC, then, search no more, because I have listed some free and best video editing software for PC. They are very simple to learn and understand. And if you haven't used a Video editing software before, then, try any of the below softwares. I promise you will make good quality videos with any of them.

If you use your phone to make videos, such as comedy skits, songs of you, magics and likes of them, you need a video editing software to make the Video look perfect and interesting before sharing it online or with friends. Though, there are quite a number of free video editing tools for Android which is available on Playstore, such are VideoShow, VivaVideo etc.

But now, these softwares are for PC users, whether you are running on Windows OS or MacOS.

This is a video editor that puts professional-quality tools within your reach, regardless of your budget. It is far more than a tool for cutting clips. Reports state that big-name movies like The King’s Speech were created on it. Lightworks is definitely not easy to use immediately, but when you get the hang of it you would enjoy it. Furthermore, you can arrange the various controls and windows to suit your working video editing software

This is another professional-looking free video editing software that requires a little patience if you need to master it. The interface is quite unusual. This is mainly because the software was originally a Linux tool, and there has not been much change in its conversion to Windows. However, the fact is that Shotcut boasts of some pretty impressive features. All you need is to spend time learning it, and you will produce amazing quality video in no time.

Most video editors have two major issues: they are either limited in features while being simple and easy to use, or they are powerful and time-consuming to learn. VideoPad Video Editor is neither one nor the is powerful, yet simple and easy to use. so simple, in fact, that you can use it if you have never touched a video editor before. Granted, it does not have as many features as Lightworks, but you can make really great videos with it.

You can run a search on Google with the name of the software, e.g: "Shotcut video editor download PC". You will see their official site where you can download the software free of charge. You will need to choose your PC OS and Bit before downloading.

That's all. Please do Share.
