New Version Of Netflix Allows You To Download Videos For Offline Playback

At long last, the long awaited feature that has been requested from Netflix has been released, which you can now download videos, TV shows for offline playback.

Not all content listed on Netflix will be available for download, you will see a download icon near the description of the video, if the movie or TV show is available for download. Currently, the update is being rolled out for the Android and iOS app of Netflix. Kindly head over to your respective app stores to update your Netflix app to the latest version.

In the settings, you can choose to enable the downloads only on Wi-Fi and also choose the quality. The quality settings available are 'Standard' and 'Higher', which doesn't say much about resolution and bitrate and they may as well have named them 'Meh' and 'Wow' for all the difference it makes. You can also see the amount of storage the downloads are taking on your device and delete them all at once if required. There is also a My Downloads section in the sidebar where you can find all your downloaded content.

The update is now available in regions where Netflix can be accessed. For Android users, do check your Playstore for an update. While for iOS users, do check iTunes for the update.
